Grand Finale #1 ~ Itty Bitty Bookworm CLOSED

For those of you who do not know, I am a former Kindergarten teacher and I have an early childhood education degree. Teaching young kiddos is my speciality and I love it! When Tara from Itty Bitty Bookworm offered to send me both the Bo and Bailey curriculum to review I was thrilled! I have heard a lot about it and was very curious!

The CD arrived, containing an entire year's worth for both age groups and I began browsing through it all. Without being long-winded, I will tell you that this is an extremely developmentally appropriate program, which exposes young kids to the joys of early literacy. I was beyond impressed with the many resources offered. It gives you everything you need, besides the books themselves (which you can easily find at the library!). It is thorough not only in the lessons themselves bu also in educating you, the teacher/parent, about young children. It was basically my college education all wrapped up in a nice little package!!!

The curriculum is written for a group setting so it does take some minor adapting for a homeschooling mom, but it worked fine for us! The books featured are wonderful, and I had a hard time choosing 1 to work with for our review!

Krash is 3, I knew I could choose from either program, so I decided on Is Your Mama a Llama (from Bo, year 1, February) and chose a few of the activities to do for our Tot School time, which ended up including Pac Man too since it was fun and artsy! This was an awesome activity and one I would have never thought of on my own! We made silhouette paintings using templates provided on the CD, for each animal in the book!

It was a fun activity and we have done a few others too and will certainly be doing more! The Cd's we have now are FULL of great ideas and book extensions. I am so excited to have this awesome resource for our homeschool.

Tara has generously offered to give one of my readers an entire year's worth of either the Bo (ages 3-5) or the Bailey(18-36 mos) curriculum!!!! This is a $300 value!!!!

Mandatory Entry...

In a comment tell us why you want to win this curriculum and which you would choose (Bo or Bailey).

After you do that, you can gain some extra entries by doing any of the following, remember to leave an extra comment for each item so they will count as entries...

Oooohhhh how I would love this! I used to teach 5th grade but now stay home with my three year old. I have been trying to do lessons/activities with her but I am finding I am clueless when it comes to this age. I would LOVE this... would chose the Bo curriculum.

I would love to have this curriculum because I am homeschooling my two year old and she LOVES books. When I taught third grade, I always combined the books we read with a ton of literary activities. It would be great to have something already done and to just have to tweak things rather than starting from scratch. I previewed the curriculum and loved what I saw. I would choose Bo because I really want to start formal school with Bear when she's 3.

Hi there!

I would definitely choose Bo - I have a 3 year old son, who would benefit, but even more - I am co-director of a Christian Pre-School and Kinder/1st teacher at our christian academy and would absolutely use this curricule! We have no budget to purchase a curriculum - this would be an answered prayer!

I would love the Bo curriculum for my almost 3 year old because for soooooo many reasons
1) homeschooling is something I've recently started learning about on my own and could use all the help I can get
2) I don't have a teaching degree and good curriculum in which someone has already figured out all the pieces (themes, arts, etc) would be great
3) a set curriculum would really help someone like me who is a little creatively challenged
4) a prepared curriculum would really help a busy mom out who also has two teenagers to chase after would be a definately "yeah!"

I would be very thankful if I were able to win a cariculum like this one. I would be interested in the Bailey for the 18-36 months. I currently have a classroom of 12 toddlers 19-36 months one of which is my 20 month old. I have been working with kids in a childcare setting for six years now and am going back to school for my bachelors in early childhood education. It would be so amazing to be able to use such a tool in my classroom. Right now I am using a curiculum that I am not to excited about so I am writing my own for my younger children and adding onto my old one.

I would LOVE LOVE to win the BO Curriculum (rest of year 1 and part of year 2 if possible). I bought the September and October Bo Curriculums for Year 1. My daughter, Alyssa, is enjoying the activities so much. She is almost two and working at a much higher level than I expected. The activities with a few minor homeschool adaptations have worked wonderfully for her. She loves reading and books (especially the ones IBB has recommended)! I would also love to win this curriculum to save a little money. I was teaching to help pay for bills, but now I am a stay at home mom and we struggle at times with the finances. So, the FREE curriculum would definitely help at this point. This curriculum has helped me stay organized and on track teaching my baby girl. I have also placed several of the IBB activities in her workboxes. LOVING IT. I hope I win.
